Giving Grants to Charitable Organizations

Our History

The Buckner Foundation was established by the Trust of Charles M. Buckner, Jr. and his son, William G. Buckner (“Gordon”), both lifelong residents of Marshall, Missouri. The Foundation has been giving grants to charitable organizations in Central Missouri since 2001.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Buckner Foundation, as established by the terms of the Charles M. Buckner Trust, is to support charitable organizations which benefit the residents of Saline County, Missouri and the surrounding area. The Foundation’s Advisers have the absolute and sole discretionary authority for determining gifts from the Foundation.

Grants are generally less than $50,000 and are awarded quarterly

Apply for Funding

Grants can only be awarded to tax exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3). Grants are generally less than $50,000 and are awarded quarterly. Requests for annual, general operating funds are discouraged. In 2024 Grant Requests will be due on February 26th, May 31st, August 30th and November 29th.
